The U.S. 2022 Mid-term election is over. So what did we learn? Many issues were raised. Huge sums of money was spent to influence voters. Now it is time to get things done. What are you going to do to help? Will you waste time dealing with the outcome of the election, or focus on moving forward. Taking sides is a huge waste of time and opportunity. What is important is to come together (as best as we can) to focus on what each of us can do.
The fact that many people live paycheck to paycheck should be of great concern. The fact that the U.S. is $21 trillion in debt should be a huge concern. The fact that important issues get trivialized is a problem. Personal arrogance and political bias gets in the way of moving forward. Gridlock is not a solution, it is a state of inaction. I want to create a better world for everyone. What about you?
We are witnessing disconnects on a massive scale. If you are a business leader, you need to act. Most importantly, you need to act wisely. This is why you need good information. Over the past two decades our political, financial and health systems have collapsed. Disconnects we discoverd in the 90s during the dot.com bubble have gotten worse. You would think that leaders would finally get it. The election was a wake up call for everyone. Uncertainty and indecision breeds contempt. Business as usual is not only risky, but stupid. We need to think "outside-the-box" to find new solutions. What will you do to foster change and new innovation?
Time to move forward. First, people need to recognize the significance of the problems we need to solve. Second, old ways of thinking must be replaced by new ways of getting work done. Just because you are busy does not mean you are doing the right things. Many problems stem from the way we manage and use information. Exponential growth of data and social media is reducing knowledge worker productivity. The only solution is to learn more about what we need to do. Needs are different for every person and organization. In business and government there is huge need to learn how to analyze true value creation. We need new solutions. How will you move forward? The answers depends on what you want to accomplish. We think differently and Steve Jobs had great insight.
